pls spare me me the "GET A MAC YOU ***" talks.

somehow my windows doesn't recognise USB disks anymore. when i plug in my thumb drive, there's the notification sound, but i cannot access the drive through My Computer.

same with my panasonic digicam. plug it in, there's a notification sound, but no access.

there's NO drivers because XP doesn't need drivers to recognise external USB drives.

printers, mouse, all others that use USB work well. only disk-concept USB deevices.

plug in the drive - right click my computer> manage> disk managment

see if it shows up there with an unassigned letter, if so, assign it one by just right clicking the volume in the right handside pane and going to properties

same with the digicam - presuming its just picking it up as mass storage device

it didn't work. there was no drive letter, but after i assign a letter, it still doesn't show up in My Cimputer.

EDIT: i can access it by right clicking in Disk Management and clicking Open though.
