    Hello Guys,
I just started working on website .. Almost all pages of websites are indexed by Google.
This website contains 237 webpages but only 28 links are present at website. Website is developed in wordpress & the sitemap designed by "ALL in SEO" pack which is integrated with website is about 237 pages.
1 Ques: When I create sitemap for this website from "https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/" then it will create sitemap of 28 pages. Why?
2 Ques: When I search "site:websitename" in Google the I only find 28 urls but in Google webmaster tool ..i saw all pages has been indexed.
3 Ques: when I search separately those "url" which are not shown with"site:websitename" in Google,..is also showing ..
4 ques: Once indexed page is not showing after few days..
    Thank You

are you saying out of 237 pages, only 28 pages are indexed?
How were the 237 pages created? are they manual/quality posts?
or did you import them as a result of an auto import ie: amazon products....
If your 237 pages were auto imported, then that is not unique content,
and it will be content that google will simply ignore, and not index....
google may index your first few pages to see what kind of quality
you are posting, if it does not like what it sees, then google will
stop indexing, and I suspect google can see your content without
even have to index it first ie: google looks at your sitemap....

    Thanks for your reply
all 237 pages have been indexed ...But at website we only showing 28 links & these links are showing when I search "site:websitename" in Google.com (only 28 links which are present at website)
When I check few urls which are not linked at website are also indexing but not showing when i search including "site:websitename"
And once those urls which are not linked at website once indexed have been deindexing after few days.. this is the main issue..
Hope you will get my points..

You have it backwards; It sounds as if 237 pages are in sitemap, and that is no means to guarantee indexing.
If you are doing a site:search, and you only show 28 pages, then you only have 28 pages indexed in google.

I have 1000+ urls in one of my sitemap, however, only 5 urls are indexed.
If google does not like the content, then google will not index the content.

however, if you do not think the content is an issue, then it is possible
that your site is setup to "noindex" If this is the case, google will not index the site.

The last possibility is that your site is *new* and it has been established
that google may hold your site back for many months until google can
establish that your site will be trustworthy. If you setup a site today, and
create 100s or 1000s of posts, even if they are high quality, then it could
take google sometime to index the content. It is crude to post a lot of
    content, and think google will index a new site in full within a few days;
as your site gets older, then you can post content, and google will pick
it up fast; however, this does not apply so much for brand new sites
that have zero trust with google, as it simply takes time...

backlinks to your content is a vote saying your content is worthy
to be indexed in google. Some content may never need backlinks
and google will index some over time, other content may not index
at all, and I mean never if it does not have backlinks to give it a boost.

You should never post more content then you can get indexed, because
all of your content may not index in a natural manner; So now you have
700+ posts on your site that you do not know what to do with; pointing
cheap backlinks to your content can result in a penalty, and expensive
backlinks may index your content if it is worthy, but will be expensive.

at this point, your site is an unknown.
You simply have provided no information, other then to
say you have 700+ posts and only 28 of them has been indexed.

    1. It take sometime up to 2 months to index all your pages in google index , in start google index all the important page of the website so its highest probability that the remaining pages are of low quality and low quality product pages.
    2. you are saying ur sitemap XML only have 28 links and you have over 200 pages in real means ur robots.txt is blocking reaming of your pages so you have to make necessary alteration in you robots.txt and at the same time check meta robot tag too
    3. what you are saying when u are searching those pages individually then they show up in search results so point 2 above makes no sense

over all i feel you have recreate you sitemap with improved robot.txt and you have to give google time of 30 to 60 days so taht he completely crawl your pages may be ryt now you are in sandbox of google , still a screen shot of your issue will let me know more if what are you facing

I'd use the plugin Google XML Sitemaps for Wordpress. It made the sitemap process easier for me and you tweak your settings directly from your Wordpress admin panel.
