My website ranks poor, even with backlinks and PR in Google?

    The question you need to ask is Why should my site rank above all the others? If the site is no more useful than the sites already there then it will probably never beat them.

    Typically there are thousands of sites targeting each term. Not all of them can rank well.

    To get good rankings you need to do things better than the sites that are already in the top 10.
