Hi all, I started one travel blog. I wrote 3 posts and did on page optimization after some keyword research. (I,m planning some more posts and want to keep frequency of one post a week.) I started off page optimization. I got some backlinks, some good and some bad. Bad means some directory links & some good PR links from the keyword I want to rank. My website is not ranking for that keyword. I stared my SEO from that keyword. Its a low competitive keyword and its not ranking in top 200 even. Though checking with back link tools definately shows links coming from that keyword to my site. What is the exact issue which Im facing. Should I wait for am I gonig wrong somewhere? Thanks
It is a brand new, almost empty blog in a highly competitive niche and you are surprised that it's taking time to rank? I'd add some back dated blog posts to give it a feeling of age but the bots won't be fooled. Give it time.
3 posts is very low. You will need at least 20+ before Google can really validate your site and rank you for your keyword.
I understand. I'm surprised that its not even ranking in top 200. And many wired results are ranking better than me. Anways, Can I put some old dated posts on my blog even if my blog is registered one moth before? Do you think its a nice practice to do that?
From a human perspective it gives your blog more depth and you are more likely to get natural links. I don't know about the bots. Top 200 is still a big ask unless, somehow, you have found a sub niche in the travel industry that has been ignored.
Are you doing silo structure? Also what are the pr of the sites that are sending backlinks to your site?
Order full audit of your site and your competitors analysis. This will give you an idea what SEO your site lacks and what SEO your competitors successfuly use. Also this will detect if your previous SEO specialist used some black hat tricks (Google punish for some black hat onpage today).
Hi, New websites take some time to optimized. Don't be in a hurry. One thing more, do not target just one 1 keyword, target upto minimum 5 keywords. For more , my skype id is: pramod.pws Thanks.
your site ranking will come but it will take some time because in travel site competition is very high and talk about your blog post your blog post greater than 10 and check your blog when indexed last..
To get website rank, you must have 5 pages on your website. So try to create some meaningful pages with relevant content, data and information.
The very first point to keep in mind is your website should be search engine friendly. For a website to rank in search engines there are lot of things to be worked on. There should be good number of backlinks coming to your website from high PR websites mostly preferred website with PR 3 & 3+. Also it is important to make sure that your website have the targeted keyword in proper place, by proper place I mean title tag, description tag, keywords tag, H1 tag, URL(if possible) and the most important "Content", as "Content is King".
For brand new blogs, keep posting unique content frequently and also keep eye on your site indexing in top search engines.. along with your ON page optimization. Surely your blog will attain PR2 or PR3 status within 1 year.. Cheers and keep doing good works
As you know, and as it has already be re-affirmed by others, you have chosen a niche that is no easy nut to crack. However, make sure you adjust your expectations to realize that you are in a distance race and not a sprint. Keep your attitude positive, remain diligent in your weekly activities, and you will eventually see results. And make sure you have another source of steady income until this pays off for you!
Ensure that your blog consist of proper meta tags and increase your posts with quality content. Usually it takes time for new blog.
