Okay, my website holds position 6 on first page of Google, has PR0 and 3 backlinks. Below it on position 7 there is a website with PR0 and 12,800 backlinks according to Yahoo Site Explorer. Above my website on position 5 is a website with PR0 and 107 backlinks according to Yahoo Site Explorer. 1. How come my website with 3 backlinks outranks website which has 12,800 backlinks? 2. How can my website outrank website which has 107 backlinks? Do i need to have a total of 108 backlinks?
Building backlink with anchor name is keyword you target. If you want old concept , then this is : Get top #1 in Google
#7 ranked is probably not optimized for your target keywords. u want to check that the keywords are in the title as well as the # of links with the keywords as anchor text. as long as #5 doesnt have links from yahoo directory or business.com or some other authority site, u should easily outrank them with more links with target keywords as anchor text
1. How come my website with 3 backlinks outranks website which has 12,800 backlinks? - Probably the backlinks are targeting other keywords. - The backlink value is low - Not anchored keyword - Not dofollow - This may not be the main niche 2. How can my website outrank website which has 107 backlinks? Do i need to have a total of 108 backlinks? - Not necessarily to need to have 108 links. - You need dofollow backlink - Anchored keyword - From content section preferably - From related content sites - High PR if possible - Older domain age and unique IP - Low total outbound links - You may need less than 100 to outrank your competitor if you follow the above stats on each of your backlink
Like the info, and I agree with what is being said. Quality backlinks and optimizing your page/pages for your keywords would definately help you out
Do link building with proper anchor text. Check your title, meta and web content and ensure that it's fully optimized for Google. You should outrank your competitors easily then.
Exactly, what I was thinking when I read the comment. Writing Quality Content is too over rated. There are some keywords that are dominated by 1 page keywords.
if you want to do it long term then I'd avoid the blackhat method. Writing quality content is part of it but that's probably what got you to #5. Just get more links.... Article marketing is probably a good route to go!
1. Key word rich (not heavy) content, internal links, external links (blog entries, blog comments, link exchange, forum comments, article submission, social bookmarks, social network links, press releases, Hub and Squidoo lenses, coupon sites, free directories, Yahoo directory). That's the formula. Doing the above consistently almost every day.
Simply conduct best On page Optimisation and get niche inbound links for High PR sites or blog. Place the keyword as anchor text when your link bulding. There are threads around digitalpoint that explains you how to get quality backlinks. Do a search and it may help you.' Regards Gemma
