Mine was 23k in about the same timeframe, so no it's not brilliant. The data doesn't really get remotely accurate until your in the top 100-1,000 range.

Also the type of site makes a difference, for a webmaster themed site where your visitors can have a higher percentage of toolbar installs it will inflate your rank.

 

Just keep working hard! Though I'll admit, my Alexa rank sucks.

Alexa Rank means a lot it tells the current status of the importance of the website as google page rank is updated in 6 months or once in a year..

Please tell me the most important things to be done to drive a gud traffic.

 

Driving traffic to your site means one thing... build back-links, build back-links, build back-links. The more in-coming links you have to your site the better. It's all about promoting your site and getting people to know about it.

 

Alexa rankings are very unreliable...

The rankings of a website that I started some years ago had like 500,000 alexa rank a year ago with 100 UV/day and now is getting like 400 UV/day and alexa rank is almost 700,000....

It all depends on the people who have the alexa toolbar installed...

Don't bother with PR is olmost worhless and with Alexa rank wich is crap

Try and work your ass to get rankings for your niche specifi keyphrases

 

Exactly people seems to forget that the aim with SEO is to improve your rankings and get those visitors.

PR and Alexa rank is just a number in your tool bar. Unless you plan to sell links to other people, who are obsessed with PR and Alexa, just ignore it. It will sort itself out. Try to concentrate on link building and on page optimization so your pages will rank higher.

Like the others have said - make sure that you don't get too bogged down in your rankings data. Make sure that you concentrate on building a great website with good content and update it regularly. Everything else should fall into place.
