Over the past several months my website has seen a pretty large decline in traffic. Almost 70% loss in search traffic, which is huge. It still gets good traffic but is having little to no search traffic all of a sudden. Still get alot from other sites like engadget and lifehacker from links they post to some of my articles but overall SERPS are getting bad.

I used to write an article and immediately place on the first page of Google for the related topic but now have trouble even finding my articles sometimes in Google.

First of all, i do not think you are allowed to keep bottom bar with adsense, i am not 100% sure, but i think is not ok.

I have looked at one article
    android-advice.com/2013/archos-gamepad-united-states-launch-in-february/

and you appear on number 3 for a text search

This is not ok, you should appear first. Probably you was penalized.

I have the feeling you got too many links with exact anchor text.

From which date the traffic is down?

    i hope this helps.

It looks like with every major update Google has made traffic has dropped significantly. Panda and Penguin both hit me hard. Thank you for your insight. I have removed many items that slowed the load time down and got it loading much faster as well as removing any unused code and minifying js and css a good bit.

Any other perspectives would be great, thank you all in advance.

    Hi.
Did the site's lose its ranking after you lost most of your traffic?

If you were mainly getting your traffic from articles that got ranked high and then gotten out of ranking after Panda and Penguin- then this might also explain the drop of traffic. You have to maintain your level of posting good articles to get your usual traffic if this was/is your primary traffic source. And this is not easy to keep up since articles get ranked high at first and then lose their rankings over time.

Also... where are your other legal pages? You only have Terms and Conditions at first glance. I don't see Disclaimers, anti spam, private policy, and such that must be on a site like yours if you work with Adsense and other promotional strategies...? Your site can get penalized or simply get lost into the dreaded sandbox if your site does not have them. I have 8 legal type pages on one of my sites and I think you really should post more other legal pages!

Have you made massive changes to the site since the time you noticed the big drop of traffic? If yes, then the solution is to go back.... to the way things were to reclaim your traffic.

I noticed the rectangular adsense banner looking ad on the bottom of the site that is static and in place- and it is really distracting and annoying. If I was looking for info about android advice.. I'd exit your site quick after seeing it! Sorry... Don't like that ad type and placement - it makes your site look spammy!

I hope my review is somewhat helpful. Overall... I like the site design and overall look and feel + content, just not the bottom ad thingee.

My sites PR has stayed the same through everything (while it went from 0-3 after a few months it hasen't budged since then and even interior popular pages are still at what they started at after the initial PR was given. I used to post an article and instantly get a few hundred visitors from Google alone and now get maybe 50 on a good article.

I will look into the legal pages that are required and get those up and running as soon as possible, I have just been procrastinating because of the inherent bordom that is associated :).

The ad at the bottom that is static was removed for a while to test the effect it had on traffic and didn't seem to change anything. The one thing that did change was Adsense revenue went down about $12/day. That ad sitting there makes me around $300/month so its hard to make the decision to remove it. I do however understand the user effect that it may have and will test again here soon to see if there may be an effect from Google's indexing (will need to leave it off for a 3 month period or so to see if this has an effect on placement).

Thank you very much for your input, Great Stuff.
