My Website dissappeared from Google

    Hey.

My website link is in my Signature.

I just wanted to discuss something a bit. My websites is hosted by my own Hosting machine. Recently it had problems where my OS kept crashing. So in 3 days, the site was dead for like 2-3 hours daily. During these days, whenever the website was dead, it went out of Google and when the site was back online, it came back in Google. Now when I have fixed the issue and website is online 24/7, but I can't see my website in Google anymore. Actually, I can see the main index page but no more internal topic pages of the Blog. Why is that so ?

I also changed a few settings, not sure if I messed up with anything. One thing I did is changed the permalinks from default structure to custom structure. I added 301 redirects to the old links and they work perfectly fine. Since then, new links haven't showed up in Google But is there anything on my site that could cause Google bot not to access it ? The robots.txt file is however set to allow everything. I have also tried re-submitting site map through Google's webmaster tools. It downloads it automatically and submits it successfully too. The sitemap is at /sitemap.xml on my website. In webmaster tools, there is also something called " Fetch as Google bot " . That also successfully fetches a page if I enter it but that page never comes up on Google . It's been 2 days and website's internal pages haven't came back in Google except the main page.

    Please advice .

From what I see, it is still in the Google index. It seems the main page and a few other pages are displaying. Actually google is displaying quite a few indexed pages when you perform the 'site:' command you will see many pages indexed.

If you are looking for better rankings for the blog or specific pages start building links to the URLs.

    No.

Those are cached pages. One more thing I did is changed the permalinks from default structure to custom structure. I added 301 redirects to the old links and they work perfectly fine. Since then, new links haven't showed up in Google. For example, if you type my site, it will give you a link of Show all results from this site.

It's just not properly displaying only the index page is what that shows up.

The pages were indexed yes. But it was before 20th October after which I fixed the downtime issue and added custom permalinks .

But the links do not appear now. Where did you see those 800 pages ?

I posted this topic at Google Support too and they replied me this relating to some hidden text issue. Can anyone really explain me what that is and how to fix it ( If this is really the issue possible ) .

I have experienced similar problem when I changed my permalink structure from number to title in URL earlier.

It looks like you have done 301 redirection because when I click your old permalink as listed in Google search results, I'm referred to new URL structure.

Give them some time to update their list of URL.

Keep posting new contents to your blog as you are doing now and you will see the changes will take place soon.

Currently, I checked in Google.com, your site have 1200+ indexed pages with most of the older pages indexed as ?p=1234 and several recent posts indexed as your new permalink structure :
    http://www.mixupdate.com/general/free-2010-funny-pumpkin-carving-templates-designs/
    http://www.mixupdate.com/celebrity/playboy-model-sara-jean-yoga-video-photos/

Google will update your older links to newer links soon if all the permanent 301 redirection done well.

Don't worry about this and keep posting more contents on your blog.

address change is not the only cause to make the web site disappear from google. the content can make a huge difference. try to make the site content rich and this will attract google and yahoo to crawl and index the site. also make sure that each page is not a full copy of another page if you copy articles from article directories
