My webhost expire, i forgot to renew, webhosting company charge me reactivate fee ($25). Suspend my site, need me to paid the renewal fee ($140) + reactivate fee ($25) It's logic ??? Please comment ??? I never charging reactivate fee before using other webhosting.
It's not uncommon to be charged a re-activation fee. Not everyone will charge one, but re-activating a closed account may take some work (it's NEVER a case of pressing a couple of buttons), and it's not a massive fee. The one thing to consider is that while they might want to charge you $25 to reactivate, it's a lot less that the time-cost you will have moving your sites to another host, the DNS propogation time (sites are down while this happens), and the hassle. At least they still have your site files and it is probably worth at least $25 just to get access to them again rather than have to scramble around looking for your latest backups if you move host. I'd pay it just to save myself the grief. The choice, if you don't pay, is move to another host and hope you have the latest backups from your site and any databases.
So you have done this before? How about just paying your bills on-time and you won't have to worry about reactivation fees. Just a thought.
All good web hosts send hosting bills and reminders ahead of time. If there was no reminder at all, it's time to pay to get back your files, and then move to one of the world's best hosts --- HOSTGATOR.
Its common, since you did not took responsibility of your own sites and bills to pay on time, so host has to find your backup in their system and restore it, which might take 20-40 minutes, depending the size of sites. Some host may not charge for it, to keep you as customer, but really its big problem for host as well not to get payment on time, it increases a lot work load for them as well, to resolve such issues, so why not avoid them, and pay bills on time or have active subscription instead paying manually.
I seen this is the top 10 hosting for here & other forum... And also i got the hostgator discount coupons now.... This is my first time suspend site. Since i at 10 year share host within more than 10 hosting provider worldwide. I already transfer my site to other hosting provider.
why did it happend for them to ask you to pay for the renewal? Web hosting providers have everything set up differently , perhaps you should try to work it out with them if you were satisfied with their service. Were you with them for long time?
more than 3 years Yes, i move out from this hosting provider. Normally some company not charging reactive fees.
It does sounds rude to me but they can caught you with their "terms of use". Have you found this kind of fees being mentioned in their TOS. If yes then you have to abide with it and no available choice. You may consider to pay them for getting your website back first before put some attempt to transfer into a new web host. An unfair TOS is a common in web hosting industry. They can change whatever they want in TOS without prior notification to their customers.
