After reading few web hosting related posts last days and another xxx or maybe xxxx in the last year on DP, WHT and not only i decided to write in few words my opinion : Content : Scammers, iTraders, Posts, Unlimited bandwidth... life in general. First : some hosts are good some are bad for sure. Second : most people are naive, that's a rule. Argues : iTrader : "man, you don't have iTrader" Posts : "man, you don't have enough posts" Online in business "man, you are new i don't trust you" What i need "o- ho - ho , man, i need 25 GB disk space and 500 TB bandwidth for my site dedicated to my dog "Chonchon". If i will not use it all i will create a website for my cat "Ringa" too. My budget : man, cheap, to be cheap, 25 $ / year is good, but better for 10 $ / year. Feature Cpanel, man, i need C-panil with Fantastix !, i heard is state of the art in web hosting and my dog deserves the best. So give me Cpanil and Fantastix man. Honest Packages "man, you offer less disk space and bandwidth than others, i don't like... your honestity". Unmetered, Unlimited and deals too good to be true : "man, your offer is great, i pay you 25 $ / year, for such a deal i risk my life... " and after 3 days is down. Conclusion : Hg, Hg , Excuse me but people are naive, sometimes, not afraid to tell, stupid, they ask to be scammed and this will happen. Some people talk about teaching people recognize the offers and true values, the non-scammers, but i doubt they have ears to listen and see the true, if they have "ears" and "eyes" to see will forget soon what they heard or saw because the charismatic scam offers will be too good to be avoided. A simple comparison, in hosting between a "beautiful bitch" and a "nice woman" people will always choose the bitch stealing their money, but there is a hope too because the bitch is used once and then, hope you will appreciate the "nice woman". That's my web hosting overview, thank you for your attention to my post again.
well basically you get what you pay for. Often times cheap hosts aren't always good. And they tend to flash bullshit like 'unlimited bandwidth'..... righttttttttttttt
It all boils down to simple economics; can they pay their stuff and make a profit if they run a normal business. Most can not. Most want to compete with Hostgator, but at those prices you cannot compete or you need scale (like HG) and that scale does not only give you cheap servers and bandwidth but also reasons to throw people off. HG has no problems throwing people off at all. For almost nothing. A few clients are not really important for them; they need mass so if *anything* goes wrong you get a raw deal. On the other hand (and I am thinking it is some kind of problem with DP in particular); people have no idea how to run a business or do anything worthwhile online. If you are serious about your site and your hosting, you would make sure you have rock-solid, 100% up hosting, 100% fast hosting and that simply doesn't come for small prices. Most people don't need 50000000000000 gb or a quazillion teraquad bandwidth. They just need a few 100 mb storage and maybe 1 TB bandwidth and make a very very good living with that. Hell, Some even sell a site hosted like that for a few million $ ; all that 'I need everything for nothing' is just a crazy notion people have here. People who make real money and add real value just go to Rackspace and get a server with support. Costs a hundreds of $ per month, but who cares if you make $100k/month with it right? Indeed, no-one. Hosting is not that nice these days ; I'm not even trying the cheap stuff anymore; it is all the same; badly managed worthless hosting that seems nice the first few weeks and then dies because they have no (0, zero) tech people because 'it has WHM, I can do it right?'.
That really depend on the host. Look at HG,they do give what they promise at their hosting plan. I do have a website hosted at HG and used up to 80% of the storage their promised without and problem.
