my web host suspended my directory for too much load

my web host suspended my directory for too much load.

That is my leading directory a FREE PR4 Directory
I get about 1000 to 1500 uniques a day.

Can some one recommend a good host that can hadle this on a shared hosting account?

I am with them for about 2 years - giving $25.00 per month for a re-seller account.

This account was suspended for high CPU usage. Please understand that we cannot allow any one site to slow down an entire server and we've found many abusers over the last few days.

Your site was using 2.10% CPU out of an available 4.00% for the entire server on a dual xeon. Some sites are just too popular for a shared environment.

Being a Free directory I don't make too much money may be $1.00 a day on averge.

So, need a good re-seller host that can handle even if the traffic goes to
2500 to 5000 uniqes a day.

1000 to 1500 uniques is not a big number for shared hosting.

 

Depends on the type of site...proxies with 100 uniques/day can bring down a server.

However usually directories are not that heavy on servers.

I got lot of offer for Hosting -- Thanks all.

My host is not bad, except for the part they just suspend the account, instead of working with me on resolving the issue.

They un-suspended the site and I moved to the newer version of the script.

Will see how it goes and then make a decission.

Any one who can offer lot of IP's in the plans.

No, release date is fixed at June 4th , imo.

Also , 1500 uniques a day isnt much. My arcade with 500 a day takes just 300 MB bandwidth & not much CPU usage.

Anyway, can you tell me your bandwidth requirement (monthly) so that I can get you a cheap shared plan. I think i can get you one cheaper than the $25 per month you are shelling out right now.
