I have a son, I also hope he does not do drugs. I however agree on so many levels about the legal system, it makes it damn near impossible for people to get help, plus you have people brewing shit in their bathtubs. Imagine what would happen if aspirin were brewed in peoples bathtubs, the quality would be extremely sub par and more often than not dangerous.
Then the good ol' government would make it illegal to sell and people would see it as a big bad drug.
I think drugs are ok. They should just be legal and regulated by the government. The notion that somebody has to be a loser or can't handle life to use a drug is ridiculous. Of course people can go overboard on drugs (like everything else humans get their hands on), but I'm not sure that's the point the OP was making. Drugs can allow you to view things from a different perspective, which in itself is pretty mind-blowing. Some perspectives can be good (a good trip) some can be bad (a bad trip). This is just like a persons perspective about anything else, drugs just give you the ability to go in and out of it at will. That's just my 2 cents if indeed we're talking weed and shrooms and such. I myself have never ventured into heroin or anything like that, so I'll leave that alone.
drugs are actually medicine such as marijuana for asthmatic people the only thing is the abusive use of humans...
I'll give my 2 cents on what I think of it, but I wouldn't change them, only they can change themselfs of course with a bit of help but I tend to leave it to them after when I've given my 2 cents.
Drugs are fine as long as you do not become dependent upon them. I've tried Mushshrooms, Salvia, PCP, Weed, Oxycottin, Perks, Opana, XanaX, & DXM. Out of all of those mentioned I only did shrooms and weed more than once. Personally I don't like smoking so I don't smoke weed. However, my view is each of them were a different experience and you only have one chance to live so you mine as well try stuff. I don't want to live to be extremely old and even if all the stuff mentioned takes 5 years off my life it doesn't really matter as I plan on doing all the stuff I want to do well before I get old and retire. Even if they do take away from my life there is a lot more stuff out there that people do daily that is much worse than trying stuff. For instance, fast food, drinking, smoking cigarettes, not exercising...it's just like anything as long you do stuff sparingly and exercise you should be fine. Personally there are reasons out there why people won't try stuff and I respect that however to think that doing drugs or not doing them is right or wrong is irrelevant because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and no one knows why we are here to begin with so there really isn't any right or wrong choice. That's my opinion anyway...
Everybody uses drugs one way or another... Alcohol, Tobacco, Caffeine, Pharmaceuticals... Etc... Drugs in general aren't good to use in excess or in consistency. They affect the way you are, obviously. There are drugs that are bad for you period. And there are drugs that can be used moderately, like alcohol. But alcohol too can be lethal. Obama tried cocaine in his young adult years, he regretted it, but it happend... That doesn't make him less or more, he's human and people make mistakes... And now he's running for the highest awarded position in the world, the President of the United States... Drugs ruin people's lives, and drugs save people's lives.... Isn't that ironic?
I don't know why society is so against drugs. There are some I don't approve of, such as the hard ones like heroin and meth. I wouldn't even touch alcohol, as anything that can make you black out and end up in another state not knowing how you got there is bad. Many drugs are okay in moderation though. In any case, although there are some incredibly horrible substances out there, all drugs should be legal. Check out http://leap.cc, it's enough to convince anyone that all drugs should be legalized. LEAP stands for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (that's right, cops who want all drugs legalized).
People take drugs because of their friends companionship, some take drugs to get themsevles some relief but using drugs is just a life threatening act, you not only risk your own life but also trouble your family and near ones. One should always stay away from dogs
Drugs, like a lot of other "bad habits" rely on the addiction of the user. I've never done drugs, and i never will. I'd rather avoid the addiction, which follows with the urge to have them in order to get through a day... i'm not saying i know all the facts, but i'm happy the way i am, and i suppose it's just a persons choice on lifestyle that makes the decision
Drugs are a political term. Half of the things you put in your body can be considered "drugs" if you look at them from a purely scientific standpoint, caffeine, taurine, alcohol, preservatives, nicotine... It depends on a lot of factors and it's decided by society and government, as to what should be illegal and thus considered bad and what should be legal and considered good. Truth and reality have no bearing in the matter.
Overdosing on drugs will risk your life and it depends what you do. It takes like 20 pounds of shrooms to Overdose so it really depends what you're talking about...me I like psychedelics. I'd like to try acid and I've done salvia and shrooms...but my favorite drug by far would have to be shrooms just because each time is different. They are good to do like once or twice a year and just chill with a friend. I don't really look at stuff as addiction either...I mean there are always people that can't deal with shit and will do whatever helps them through it whether that means eating too much or doing drugs. It's all about mindset. You can stop doing drugs if you truly want to but if you like life better on them then you're not going to wanna do that. Drugs are nice now and then as it's a different perspective on life but doing them also makes you realize how lucky you are to be sober more often than not.
