I found this an interesting read, especially coming from a muslim. http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/...07/08/my_view_of_islam.html?hpid=opinionsbox1 Thoughts or opinions?
lol, an article by Ayan Hirshi... she's not even a Muslim, she's and atheist. All her articles/movies/books are based on her personal life. Nothing in that article has any weight. She's out there to slander Islam to make a few $$$... She has nobody to support her other than non-Muslims. Anyways, don't want to go into details about her since she's a waste of time. (Now don't come and say "oh you Muslims say this all the time when someone critiques your religion).. I say to you, bring a true scholar up who actually publishes based on FACT within the context of all things, then and only then will there be a true need of debate. So far, there has been NOBODY who has published such work. All we get these days is WashingtonPost, JihadWatch, NYTimes articles from these Muslim wannabes, who just want the $$$. Anyways, if you truly want to find out what Islam is all about, have a look at this website: www.beconvinced.com
This did not sound like a Muslim at all. The person does not even know anything about the religion. She is writing for her masters.
Well, that's super surprising, isn't it ? What exactly makes her a waste of time ? Is it because she presents different opinions than yours ? Does that mean she is a waste of time ?
When one (doesn't matter man or woman) publishes a piece of work and calls it authority without taking into account the facts, then that person should not be considered.
I still found it interesting as she is an apostate speaking out against her former ideology. I'm not looking to find out about islam as I'm comfortable with my current faith. I just found the article interesting not only for what it said and who it was from, but where it was published.
No problem. I was just clarifying somethings. It's always important to filter out the false articles.
She was born a muslim and used to practice but then decided she didn't want to be a muslim anymore. Most if what she says in her article is true anyway, why saying she is slandering islam? ok may be she is generalising too much but give me an example of what is not true in her article? also at the end she does mention that they are many groups in islam, you have people who follow it to the extreme and others who will follows the basics but wil not be so stricts.
good article, i know a lot of muslims that become athiest cause they said their family and islamic friends were real aggressive and hated people to much that were not muslim
Care to elaborate on the facts that should of been accounted while writing this piece of work ? Did she not present any truth ? What was false in this article, according to Islam ?
