I recently bought a hosting package from malabiz.org.
    2GB space, Unlimited Bandwidth
I run vbulletin forum, but my site is very slow comparing with other forums or my earlier free host.

Upon intimating my hosting provider, he says that the site is perfect with the speed and the gateway is also open.

He says that if there are any points or ideas to be changeed in server, do lemme know.

I am a noob in this field, so i request you all to plz help me in this regard.

    Thank u

u just visited their site..it looks pretty unprofessional..

why dont you go with professional hosting companies?they offer cheap rates too..

like Ixwebhosting.com,netfirms.com,etc etc..there are lot of famous and reliable hosting companies...

Install any other script (try wordpress) on your account and see if it has similar problems. But, my guess is that its your host.

I do have a blogging script on another site on the same hosting, even that is slow.
Mainly, in vbulletin forum, its afecting the shoutbox.
is it something to do wid apache ?

    It seems an oversold server.
Your forum isn't small and VB is resource intensive.

If you didnt prepay for a year or a semester, better move away to a better shared host or get a cheap VPS if your budget allows.

Total no. of sites = 2,097

How can you expect a faster speed with 2.1k sites hosted on just one server!

Time to move to a better one.

Max. acceptable is 500-600 and is considered as industry normal.

    ---------edit-----------------
    \
    Found another 144 + 592 + 71 sites

Better get off this server as soon as possible! A free host is better than a overseller!

inworx how were you able to determine how many sites they host on that server without having root access? Is there an online tool which can be used?

domaintools.com/domainnamehere.tld and scroll down, you'll see xxxxxxx websites hosted on this server. Though, this isnt always accurate since if a site is on dedicated IP, it shows no other sites. But I have other tools to determine number of sites hoted in that case...see, am a great webmaster:D :p lol

Right and Wrong. You'll find the sites hosted at one IP address on same server. However, you wont find sites hosted on other IPs.

However, even 2k sites isn't that good thing!
