Well I just wanted to take a good hard look at why I chose my username. So here is a little that I wrote up on integrity and why i believe everyone needs it. Integrity is one of the most important traits needed for long term success. And if you are in your money making journey just for the short term and not the long term… well you might need some reevaluation. Definition: 1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. 2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve the integrity of the empire. 3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition: the integrity of a ship’s hull. But why is integrity necessary for a long term business??? If you lack integrity and honesty then you might make a few first time sales but you will most likely never get any repeat customers. Repeat customers are a HUGE part of a successful business. 50% of Apple’s sales orders are from repeat customers. If they did not have repeat customers they would be losing well over 12 Billion potential dollars per year. They are known for having integrity, honesty, and quality. Showing and proving that you have integrity in business can sometimes be challenging when greed overtakes you. You might have an opportunity to make a lot of money on a sub-par (morally) business deal. So what would the two consequences of taking this imaginary deal be? First, you would probably make a lot of money. Two, you would probably lose a lot of future income, once people find out what you did. Trust me, it will spread like wild fire if someone has a problem with how you do business. Be honest with your customers. It is the best thing you could ever do! Would you not expect honesty from another business? I know you would at bare minimum desire it from them. Be the perfect business for your customers. And if you cannot make a sale or deal without being dishonest then maybe you need to find a new product or a new way of communicating it. Sorry if that is harsh but I would expect those words out of every Fortune 500 CEO. Integrity can make or break a business… and the bank. The more integrity I put into not only my business, but my life, the more money I tend to make. It is a superb joy to see the fruit of being an honest hard worker! I desire so much for you to implement integrity in not only your business, but in your life also. I hope that this has spoken to you and that you will profit much from it!
- - Shouldn't your personal integrity come before your business? - There is a catch to the above quote because in most cases integrity would preclude profiteering - so where is the conflict that creates the integrity? Perhaps you equate integrity as a means of making money rather than a separate value, as one would rather be poor than....for whatever reason, as having integrity.
- Sorry for the extra reply, just starting out and thought the first one vanished and wrote another one....
I never made any claims that my personal integrity did not come first. Sorry if I worded that sentence wrong... I did not intend for any argumentative results to come of this post. I do not even believe you could have integrity in your business if it is not in your life first of all. They have to go hand in hand.
Integrity is really the foundation we build a successful life upon, isn't it? Good on you integrity! I chose the same value for my life too!
Personal or business integrity, either one is a good practice for success. The more integrity, the more success by all means. ~Mike
