I have been experimenting with websites since I was 14 (over a decade ago) and I have come to the conclusion that every sales website should be in this model. - Homepage, focusing on main products - Forum, to build a community around the website and allow the webmaster to provide support. - Blog, because it allows the owner an additional venue to comunicate with potential buyers. There are alot of other great / essential parts to a successful website such as a great email catcher but that doesn't really fit into the main architecture. These 3 parts are very helpful in taking a website from nothing to something. All three parts should be linked from the homepage of course.
Makes sense. A good website needs an awesome structure. Of course, you may need a "Hot Deals" or "Great Savings" page. People are always looking for a good deal.
