My twisted DIGG method ! HOT! HOT!

    Hi guys,

The idea is simple: To create a big group where we DIGG others' stories/websites/links and get our websites digged by other members. By that way, we get good postition in digg, get well-indexed by Google, and get tons of visitors.

Almost all of us know the power of digg.com. For those new to IM or don't know about it, digg.com is a website where people share their links/websites/stories. The more people like(digg) your story, the more popular your story will be, and you'll get a good chance to be on first page of digg. And Google really loves digg. Links on digg are quickly indexed by Google. Hundred of thousands people visit Digg everyday, so it's a good source of visitors.

How to implement the idea? Very simple
+We'll create a Yahoo Messenger ID, and we'll add each other. Why Yahoo Messenger? YM can send message to all people in a group, so you'll send out your digg links, and others will digg your link. We just need to click one click to digg a story. YM can receive offline messages, so no information will be lost.
+You don't need to expose your email. Just create a new YM nick and add others.
+I'll keep you updated of the people joining the list, so you can add them to your list.
+I'll make sure 80% of the people in the list digg your link (keep sending out the link to group until diggs=80% total number of people in the list).
+We all have different IPs and digg at different time. So our story's diggs grow naturally. Digg has no reason to ban us.

Target: 600 people after 1 month.

Imagine you have 500 diggs for your story? And if your site is good, you have more chance of digged by other visitors NOT in the list.

+It's a sure win-win situation. You can't loose. And it just takes a few minutes to do.
+It's especially useful for newbies who don't have much experience doing SEO, or those want to get their website to get indexed quick.

+Please discuss here, and add me now if you're interested: bhw_digg@yahoo.com

Like all the other good ideas, its been thought of already. And carried out. And retaliated against.

See, they don't really like it when just any site goes up on the front page. A lot of people will get really ticked off when some of those 600 members want their turn to promote ripoff watches, or some MLM affiliate program, or whatever hundreds of niches & keywords have virtually no relevance to Digg's audience.

And Digg's audience is actually rather predictable: Most of the front page stories come from about 50 domains. Some people think its literally a white list of pre-approved sites.

Either way, the moderators actually do bust up these rings on a regular basis - and they do ban the domains of the people participating.

So if you want to get your stuff noticed by these types of communities, you're probably going to get the best results if you do it the old fashioned way. Find the stories that are related to your interests and the content you want to promote, then start making friends with the people and the networks that already support those types of articles. Once you've spent a good amount of time immersing yourself in the culture of the community, you should start to see exactly what type of content you can produce in order to get a popular story.

@korr: thanks for your prudent advice.

Uhm, I guess doing this is still under the radar, Digg would not check if the diggs come from a specific pool of IPs. The list will grow naturally, and our sites will go on and off the 1st page.
Once we get a good position, we can get diggs from many visitors outside the group, which makes the story look even more natural. The number of those diggs depend entirely on each of our site is.

So, the group clicks are only a good start to promote your sites.

This will not work. Everyone as well as your domains will get banned by Digg.

@Rian: how can you be sure about that?

We already have a good of around 30 people, for about 1 month, and we're doing fine now.
Just looking for more people to join so that we can get on 1st page.

Like the previous posters have said - others have tried it, and others have got banned. Did you really think it was a new original idea?

It's expressly forbidden in digg's Terms of Service
"By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree not to use the Services: the intention of artificially inflating or altering the 'digg count', comments, or any other Digg service, including by way of creating separate user accounts for the purpose of artificially altering Digg's services; giving or receiving money or other remuneration in exchange for votes; or participating in any other organized effort that in any way artificially alters the results of Digg's services;" http://about.digg.com/tou

It's also against DigitalPoints rules to ask for or promote digg exchanges
"Stumbles / Diggs / Social Bookmarking / Social Networking - No buying or selling of services; no exchanges; no freebies. (This also includes microblogging services like Twitter, Tumblr, Spoink, etc. or any other social network)." http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php?faq=rules#faq_posting_guidelines

It really is a good idea but these types of things rarely last. To get 600+ members to work togther is almost impossible and then what happens if someone promotes another persons links but then it is not receiprocated? My personal view is to stick to maintaing control over your own link building
