My traffic shot up for 15 days by 50-70% I dont get it??

    My site has been up for about 2 years now and suddenly awstats is showing my unique visitors shot up 50-70% for 15 days then went back to normal. Can anyone explain how this is possible? or was it a glitch?

    Something could of been indexed in google as a top 10 or something..

    Yeah, I had an article top CNN.com, news.com, and dtv.gov...got a nice boost from that for 2 days (strange considering my niche'), but I have had a steady rise since Nov.
    This month is starting out nice.:)
    You must have ranked well for something and didn't know it, like I did.

    I actually just did a check, and I am now listed on page one twice, (my site, and the Digg link!}, I think maybe I may get another day out of it...woo-hoo!
    Just dumb luck, I guess.

    Some times the increased traffic may be from stumble or digg :)

    You can try checking the referrer logs and see where the traffic was coming from.

    i had a sudden boost in hits, turned out it was due to a script i'd released making it onto some french forum which linked to me. not bad :D
