    Hi,

Thought I would spread this good idea - stolen from an email I received. It said that they really liked my site and wanted to include it in an infographic that showed the top 20 golf sites that thier readers should be following in the New Year. Obviously I was flattered.

He then asked whether I would like a copy of the infographic - with the idea being that I post it on my site too, showing my fans how influential and brilliant my site is, and obviously linking back to the soruce of the graphic, which was his website.

Do it to twenty good sites, flatter them, and you can get 20 good backlinks!?

Hope you found this useful :)

While the idea in principal is a good one- in reality the majority of website owners would see through this technique. The task will have most probably been automated, and sent out to thousands upon thousands of website owners with the hope of receiving a handful of positive responses.

By all means, try it and see if it works- but I imagine their are much more productive ways you could be spending your time on link building campaigns.

20 links is nothing... if the site is not genuine it wont do any good, I like the idea in general, give something and they will link back, but in this case that something isn't enough, first the idea has a cap limit, say 20 is really low, second the site should be authority site and well known to receive the link.

In general companies do that all the time, they publish content and receive links from users across the web all the time. eventually automation is the key.

Great idea..nowadays 20 good links that Google actually count, is a real prize.

Wow. this sounds like a good idea. I have done something similar, but instead I shared their website with my ~3800 facebook fans. Will make use of this. Even having 5 relevant websites linking back is awesome too.

Sounds interesting. However, I don't think I could use it for my current websites.
