My thoughts on the relevancy of YPN v.Adsense

I was accepted into the YPN beta a few months ago. I tried it out on my Asperger's Syndrome website (main source of advertising there is CPM - I'm getting rates above 10 dollars for 468x60 ads targetted to my site but I'm going to save that for another topic since I'm new here), and there was basically only one advertiser who was targeting that keyword. Also, the Asperger site has a relatively good spread across different countries. As a result, I went back to google.

However, I recently started a new Television Wiki (tvWiki.tv -- its currently in beta -- we're working on implementing some fancy ajax stuff and totally re-customizing the mediawiki software), and the targetting seems to be better than Adsense. I've been seeing a lot of American Idol advertisements and ads for Supernatural on the WB.

Google actually had ads for the tv shows that the articles were about but the cpc on those was less than the minimum amount YPN pays. Yahoo seems to be consistently showing greater earnings per click. People are right when they tell you the CPC is a lot better with YPN.

However, on some articles, Google would show ads for wiki software or public service ads or no ads at all. In this respect, Yahoo is more relevant in terms of targeting the general purpose of my site and it is more consistent as well.

    Anyone have similar experiences?
