My thoughts on the Mayweather/Paquiano fight!

So this was classic Offensive vs Defensive battle, the defensive Mayweather just trying to outlast Paquiano and tire him out.

I was thinking 'This is like watching an egg frying on a bald guys head'.
How I miss the days of Tyson with his uppercuts and knockouts.

This is Boxing for the 'White cop shooting Black guy in the back' generation.

I don't understand why people are upset at how the fight panned out.
Were people expecting Floyd and Manny to not play to their strengths?
Regardless, I wonder how much they will be getting for the inevitable rematch.

In retrospect, I am glad I didn't watch the fight. So much negativity around it in the media.

Well, first of all, defensive boxing has been there way longer than Tyson. I personally always felt of Tyson as a heymaker, not some special person which manages to elevate boxing to a state of beauty, as in Ali. And Meyweather has had his "Ali-esque" moments, the ones where he danced to the missing punches.

I'll tell you not that those days are in Floyd's past, but : a Competitor can play the game he wills the weaker the opponent.

Think of it like this, two great chess players play a very hard game, preventing steps and doing all they can to win "micro steps" ahead. Whereas, one great chess player against a not so special one can move the game where he plans. He can make a spectacle out of a match, because his adversary is clueless.

Similarily, I think the state of this match wasn't a fault, they were both just too good to have a "tension-free", cinematic fight.

It was a predictable result. Anyone expecting a slug fest has never watched a Mayweather fight before.
