my theory on building traffic

OK here is a good tip im kinda working on. I am a long time web designer, but only a month into adsense. If you want to make money and get traffic here is a tip.

    step 1. forget about adsense.
step 2. pick an area of discussion you know alot about and build quality content.
step 3. submit to search engines/directorys and promote.
step 4. add a few pages.
step 5. build a reputation and examine your site traffic.
step 6. once you get good content and have a traffic flow and have a reason for people to return, then think about a good area to start developing your adsense campaign around.
step 7. interlink your new trafficed site with your adsense section.

    and bam...there you go.
this isnt a quick process, give it a few months, for optimal time it could take even longer.

Get your links on other websites and build your page rank.

ofcourse there are the lucky ones who just happen to make it work the totally oposite way i just explained, but thats how it goes.

I think this is a good way to begin personally.

ok web design aside... i need some adsense help :D

i have 3 pages of content (not my targeted adsense keyworded section yet.) but when placing a link block only 1 link pops up.. "domain names"

    http://www.timothyallard.com/resources/v3/domains.html

just wondering why im only getting 1 link instead of 4,..like i picked.

Thanks for reading, take what i said into consideration. This so far is working well for me.

any help on the link campaign would be appreciated

    -Tim

You probably just need to wait for the adsense spider. Sometimes it takes some time to get all the ads showing.

Interesting teory... I would like to know what more experienced adsense user tink about it... And would be specially nice to hear what Shoemoney think.
Anyway, timallard, I liked you post. You put it very simple, even though that doesn't mean it's easy. I'll keep the list in mind.

Tim , you've hit the nail on the head.. Of course i went the other way around and went mad with adsense and watching the cents come in...

But you're right.. Find the niche....

Cant remember the guys handle but the site : http://www.elvispresleynews.com/ is a great example of a guy writing about something he's passionate about and getting the visitors coming..

After all.. what do people want to see when they come to a site..

Something thats relevant to them and also the ability so see that there might be some more good content at a later stage..

Keep up the good work all!

    Sparks!

I agree - Content is King (pun intended) and the content manager in NOT a guy - but a gal.

And many thanks for the kind words about my site content... much appreciated...

Haha, there seems to be a common perception that all webmasters are guys. Anyway, nice Elvis site you've got there. I'm starting a celeb blog, so maybe I'll pop by some time and blog about your site ;)
