My take on 7search AccessoryAds

First let me say that there customer service was great. Never have I had the ceo of a company call me without me asking him to. When I had questions that the online customer service chat couldn't answer they said he would contact me. I thought it would be by email. I was very surprised and pleased when he called me. He was also very easy to talk to and answered all my questions.

Keep in mind I am only 3 days into this so this may be a premature review.

    Pros:
    • You can actually choose what keywords you want to target with the ads you place on your site. They are contextual as well which is nice. By using their keyword suggestion tool you can find some decent keywords that pay pretty decent. After they take their 40% from their revenue I'm getting about 15-20 cents a click.
    • Has all the major ad sizes that anyone would use.
    • Has basically all the features that adsense has in terms of search boxes, adrolls, etc.
    • You have the ability to see what keywords people clicked on. This is nice so you can see what you surfers are actually interested in.
    • Stats seem pretty much real time.
    Cons:
The only real con I can see is that they "validate" your traffic in the begining. What I mean by this is they send most of your clicks to a short survey asking them what they are searching for and if they are using a pay to surf program. You get paid for that click only if, and do me if, the surfer fills out that form and continues.

While I think it's great to test someones traffic to make sure it's not crap traffic the way it's done is not really fair to the surfer or the website own. Most every day people do not know what a "pay to surf" program is. And "what are you searching for?" Do you really think they are going to fill that out when they just clicked a link for a product/service and they feel you should already know that. Some of my surfers have actually told me that the ads are leading to a phishing site. I know that it's not, but they think this form is something bogus. Think about it. Click on an ad that says "Meet hot chicks in your area" and end up on a page asking you questions. All I'm saying is that most of them close the window and don't bother filling out the form.

I also think that if they are going to test your traffic you should at least get to see how many clicks you had, even if they where not paid clicks. That way you can see if the ads are actually performing and there is a potential to make money. The best part of it is that won't tell you how long your traffic gets validated for. I was told it could be from X amount of clicks to X amount of clicks and that's it.

Today I had roughly 20,000 ad impressions and have had 11 clicks. But with any other program that is targeted to my users I would have at least 80 to 100 clicks on this site. I know that most of my surfers that are clicking are not filling out this form so I'm not getting credit for them or even knowing that I'm getting a click.

They said that my traffic would only be validated in the begining but how long can they expect me to go with only making a couple, and I do mean TWO dollars a day on a site that would be making at least 10 or 15 dollars a day with my old cpm ad program.

All I'm getting at is that if you ever intend to use AccessoryAds don't plan on making any money with it until they get done validating your traffic.

I'm going to give it a few more days and see if it improves. Has anyone else ever used this program before? If so what is your thoughts on it.

We've never used them but they are definitely widely used. I would stick with them through the beginning process, a company that ensures you aren't screwing their advertisers is a good one to work with. Happy advertisers means more bids, higher bids, and more money in your pocket.

So ready to give up. 5 clicks today and made 50 cents. I don't know what they do during there validation process but I can't give up a quarter of my earning for the month so they can "test" my site. This whole ordeal has already cost me about 80 dollars. Tomorrow night is the cut off and the ads will be pulled.

All this was stated in the terms but I never thought it would take this long.

So after talking with the director of marketing I'm giving it until tuesday. That would be one solid week for the validation process. I'm hoping to have some positive feedback on all this. 7search seems great so far on the affiliate side but the validation process is killing me.
