I started this thread because many times we see people who get their 1st $100 day or their 1st $3000 month. The majority of us (or so i think) are new and learning and seeing our adsense income stay at a few cents or dollars a day. Learning the basics of internet marketing is a steep learning curve, but once you can grasp the concepts the sky is the limit as to what you can make. The best thing is to learn from your mistakes and continue to learn and capitalize off your troubles in the past. Lessons Learned Set Realistic Goals: I said I wanted to make $1000 a month and this is coming from someone who knew or had any idea about the market. Right now my goal is to increase my impressions and uniques by a couple hundred a week. I am happy with that, because once you see it happen, then anything is attainable Research: Do alot of research, ask questions, study your market. Thats the only way you can truly understand what you are doing. Hard Work: The more you put in is the more you get out. You will see it reflective in not only your earnings but also in the quality of your work and websites. Dedicate yourself to a couple hours a day, or however many you set with your goal oriented ideas. Technical Stuff: I cant write much on this because if I did I am sure I would not be stuck at $4 a day. Right now I can say CONTENT IS KING and the quality of your backlinks you have. I am good at writing unique content, but I realized I still was not getting the love from the search engines. I got a few backlinks from some articles I wrote and in a few days my traffic increased 300%. I am still learning or understanding the best ways at getting the right backlinks, but for now writing articles and submitting to a few choices free directories have helped. Maybe that can help a few of you who are making small amounts to concentrate and work at harder at what we do.
Awesome post. It will help a lot of people here. Set realistic goals and just keep with up with your sites. Don't neglect them, and most of all, don't do anything stupid to get your Adsense account. If you get to money hungry and click your own ads you will end up with ZERO. Learn from other peoples mistakes!
This is helpful to alot of people since alot of people already know all of this but dont know how to use there knolage or didnt know it will work untill they actually try it. Thanks
Hi Twan, Backlinks he means incoming links from the other sites where he submitted the articles... try to submit your articles to big articles dir say ezinearticles.com articlecity.com goarticle.com....
Does submitting to article directories actually help? Does it give you direct traffic from the article, or does it give you help in the way that you might get better search engine rankings? Also won't that give you duplicate content which google doesn't like?
I think it's better for the anchored text links you get on the article sites themselves, and the links you get when someone uses your article on their website. Just write articles for submission to article sites, don't use the articles on your actual site.
Just keep going Jdzee, My storry is similar to yours. I touch 25$ from single site, than back to 8-9$. And today when I woke up I saw my site was hacked by some grrrrrrr I'm so nervous. I lost whole day just to set up the site as it was before. That's the game. Ups and downs with adsense. After all I'll say that except content, the king is work and patience
Well i get traffic from the articles and also seen a boost in the SERPS as soon as all the articles are indexed. Duplicate content, well someone on here put me on to http://www.jetsubmitter.com/ . Spend about an hour just writing your article in the way it needs to be spun and blam!!!!! you get like 50 articles all spun differently, which helps tremendously with duplicate content
Well, I think the most right and in the same time misleading sentence is "Work hard"! you almost see it in every thread but what new comers don't know is HOW? Many have the intention to work really hard but don't know What to do and How to do it. Personally I submitted tutorials from my site to many tutorials directories (like good-tutorials and pixel2live) they helped me get almost double traffic and it goes like this: Submitting my tutorial to them, if they like it they decide to have it on their site, I start to get traffic but only for sometime until my tutorial is almost hidden in their back pages so I have to do it again and again. The problem is I am almost stuck at a number of traffic, I can't get higher. Submitting to ordinary site directories wasn't any good for me. Search Engines are not good for me either (I get 2 or 3 visits on average per day)
This is a good read. Thanks for the insight as I myself are struggling to keep people clicking on ads. One month 4 next month 0
I'm in nearly the same camp, doing somewhat better. Get no love from the big G, though. Welcome to Hell.
That pretty much sums it up. There are many "Internet Marketing" people out there trying to get you to buy this product and try that service to make money. They are constantly trying to point you in a new direction and you end up never getting anything done. When you find something that makes you any money at all. That is a good start and it can eventually grow into something very big! But like Massiva said, you have to keep going. Don't get discouraged and quit. The King is work and patience.
i reached 4,24 $ on a single day but then i got back to my 1 dollar day, and it started decreasing; perhaps i should add fresh content to my site.
