Hello, Ive been doing something probably everyone does and i think its good. Let me explain. Right now what I am doing is picking a mediocre keyword which I can dominate or get up there and i build links with that anchor and get link exchanges with that anchor text, then after i do well on that I move on to the next keyword. I am targetting small keywords untile i build so many like that that i will dominate the actual niche. Do you think this is a good idea? After i dominate a keyword i move on to the next and so on, ive been succesful with about 5 keywords now and bulding. Let me know Thanks
Better to target 3 to 5 keywords at the same time so that you can rank at least one on your targeted keywords while waiting for the others.
thats more time consuming, think about it if i target 5 keywords then many of them wont get the same exposure. I cant blog comment or get link exchanges for all 5 keywords at the same time, so thats why its better to do just one at a time or maybe two.
Why not just make sure your keywords are scattered around your site, and let Google's spiders do the rest? Make sure you have them in the title pages, keywords, description, header tags and on a few pages (about, contact, etc). This way it seems natural, and it's not blatantly obvious you have these keywords to rank for.
I think working on 1 keyword at a time will be the more time consuming so I prefer to work on atleast 3 keywords at a time.
my website is optimized for main keywords. its in my title and description and everywhere possible in my blog posts. I get backlinks from other blogs for my special keywords and take it one at a time. That is a good strategy because it is working for me.
Choosing low competitive keywords is a wise step, but not link exchanges. Google doesn't like excessive link exchanges as it may lead to some penalty. So, I suggest keep your link exchanges at moderate level and start building one way link instead.
