No, you're completely wrong, PageRank depends on backlinks and backlinks only. Getting a good showing in serps depends on other factors. If you have good traffic, PR would only matter if you're selling your site or selling links. The graph looks like it's from statcounter.
Well, PR was last updated at the end of October 2007. So, normally you would expect an update quite soon - but the last update was off the back of a >6 dry streak. Many SEO 'experts' will tell you PR doesn't matter. I find this controversial, as I feel PR does matter. I started a new site a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get any backlinks to it (yet) except from 1 PR7 backlink.Once that site page was cached again by Google, I jumped from nowhere to number 1 for that specific search term used in the anchor text. Traffic increased >1000% since (~900% in Google referrals alone!). So, I believe for that matter that having a site with high PR backlinks DOES increase your ranking.

PR is JUST A NUMBER. If you don't plan to sell your site soon don't worry about it. It means virtually nothing. And like others said before there are other ranks google gives your site that aren't public so don't worry about it, PR changes nothing. Also if you don't want to get banned from adsense you shouldnt post things like Sometimes they like to pick on new webmasters and ban them ..

Yeah thats a/the theory. If you already have good traffic why worry about pr? As pr is only a way of getting more traffic (in theory) unless you want to sell links etc on your site. No Hafsoh it dictates your 'pages' 'rank' in google search results You set how often your pages are to be crawled yourself, but google may not choose to pay attention :S
Hi Nishu, Only Digg and some adverts is Not important for High PR and Traffic but there is lots of other things required for your website. also start Article submission in quality sites if you have not. Directory submission in quality and free sites. social book marking. make a blogs and start submissions in Blog Directories. and also link Building with related sites. you will get good PR Juice and also netter Traffic. Firstly PR is only updated visually every 3ish months (although it does actually change constantly however we just can't see it). Secondly the people who worry about PR are people who buy and sell links - essentially PR is a complete waste of time, concentrate on getting a good SERPs!
First of all, wait for next PR updations. And create more backlinks if you want PR, PR does not depend on traffic, it depends on backlinks. PR and Traffic has no connection in between.
as the saying goes " if you build it they will come ". concentrate on your site and its content. if its goog enough a site word will get round and PR will follow.
