Just completed this project and wanted to hear from the experts @ DP. I have been a regular WP user for sometime now and figured I would give it a try on an ecommerce type sales website.

My goal was to increase the site's organization, make it easier for a visitor to navigate, increase organic traffic and improve the SEO.

    OLD site:
    http://stopsmoking.3sfmedia.com/

    NEW site:
    http://www.ashtraybreath.com/

    Whatcha think ?

The new site definitely looks better, the layout, design, and the seo.

    - Your ad placement is good and the ad blends in well with the color scheme
    of your site.

    - To improve your organic search engine traffic you should be consistently building
backlinks to improve your placement in the serps.

As soon as I opened both sites the banner hit me and I was like, wow, thats a good banner!

I like the new site much better as it had a much cleaner feel to it as its white rather than that blue you had before. Good work :)

The new site is much easier to read with the white background. And the navigation has improved also.

    Good job!

The layout and organization of content in the new site is definitely better compared to the old one. The ads are more blend in and the colors have also been toned down a little bit. It is also easier to navigate around compared to the old one.

Glad to see I seemed to have learned some things here at DP. I wish I was capable of creating a banner like that... but that is not in my list of abilities (yet). It was done by a flash pro. The only graphic I did for site was the bookmark icon. Guess its time to start building those backlinks now.

Thanks everyone for taking the time for the reviews.

The new site looks more clean due to the change of background color.

Nice transition - I bet you notice even more benefit at the back end now that you've got it in wordpress!!!

Was the old site on the new url previously? If so did you set up 301 redirects for pages you've replaced and did you notice a drop in search engine rankings when you switched over the homepage?

I ask because I'm doing a similar thing. I've gotthe wordprtess set up in a folder and live but scared to move it to the root and delete all the old html files until I know whats likely to happen...
