Hi, this is my first post and I'd like to share something that has irritated me a little bit! I run a clothing website (www.space-clothing.co.uk) and have recently checked out how many backlinks my competition have. They have many. Many more than I do. After looking at where these backlinks came from on Yahoo I saw LOTS came from myspace pages - myspace comments to be precise. Now recently myspace has changed to msplinks.com and I believe none of them follow. while this is exactly what myspace should be doing, they should have something in place to remove/edit existing links of this type, as it's clearly unfair. I know eventually these links will roll off the myspace comments, but until then I have to compete with sites that have hundreds more backlinks that it's possible for me to get! Just a rant there Matt
This shouldn't be too easy to defeat. Comment spamming will get that site penalised. Just stay on the long and clear road, and you'll be laughing while their begging
Don't fret, this loophole will soon be covered by algorithm updates, keep yours natural, and build links by blogging and forum posts and general things to build "web cred". You will be triumphant in the end if you focus on building authority and a good online reputation by sticking to the basics. Good luck, just keep at it!
thanks very much i've spent so much time optimising my pages, it's only recently i've become aware of blog-commenting and such like. i've started writing a few articles too - always had a lot to say but now there's even more reason to say it! also - does anybody know when this msplinks.com thing came into existence?
