2 of my sites are just approaching a year old and have recenlty lost a significant number of hits, is this the same thing or is it more likely to be as a result of a change in algorithm?

Thanks, Good to see someone recognizes the term. I think the problem here is everyone is selling backlinks, so they lie to sell them.

Like seriously, these people claim google is a rich corporation that isn't going to get cheated(so there is no way easy way to get good SERP), it spends millions to hide it's search alogarithm, yet some how google, f*cked up, and gave PR out on a toolbar, and that's the key to beating it. HA! Morons.

Yes, Google dances, and shakes things up. You're not going to have the same search result forever. Things change, google changes, the webpages on the internet change.

i just wanna drop a line and tell you, my sites are back in the index, stronger than ever (I jumped back from 65 to #1 again) I don't know if it was due to a very (!) small content update this morning or if something happended on google's side 30minutes ago. And it wasn't the sandbox for sure. we left sandbox-times 2 months ago.
What are you're observations on this?

    :)

the cause of some drops in ranking can be due to tough competition and google always do an update on the SERP. If there is a drop in ranking that is natural its a part of the competition. But if you notice the drop you should do something to get back on you previous ranking!

Changes in algorithm will also affect in ranking. If you are also selling links....this might the result of what google said about selling links.

It is time to move on another site. Build a site everyday.

It takes about 9 months Aprox(rumored), exactly the same as we are in our mothers womb ( Google's sense of humor?) to come out of the sand box... The trick is to build a new site every month or at equal interval so that after the first 9 months you have a fresh site OUT of the sand box with good ranking every month or every interval you have chosen.... In the meanwhile keep adding some content and links to your old sites... Once out of the sand box, add LOTS of contents and Links and see what you can rank well for..and keep building on those...
