The best thing you can do is, simply follow the Google webmaster quality guidelines and optimization tips. I am sure, you can get rid of penguin or any other updates if you comply with their quality guidelines.

I have spent hours scouring the internet for information about not just Penguin recovery, but how to approach link building moving forward. I can't tell you there is any concrete answer out there. Everyone has a different opinion. Hopefully, someone will do some extensive testing and share the results. I think the only thing you can safely do off-site until more fact are known is: 1) slow link building down - whatever you do, if you're doing too much, too fast, you're setting off detection of unnatural link building; 2) stick to links from your own niche - whether you're building them or someone else is, won't they always be the most logical types of sites to link to yours? and 3) get creative with link bait. When you share link bait in social arenas, others will spread the word, building natural links to your site. Until more is known, everything is speculation. And, since Penguin is a disaster when it comes to being able to spam your competitors, I'm sure updates are on their way soon.

You can't simply get rid of google penguin. It is an update in the search engine of google and cannot be undone.
