Well my site/blog was basically on the first page for "Play Pacman Online", but I have been doing heavy modifications lately and I can't even see it on a Google search! I used to get 100 clicks a day from Google now maybe 1 if I am lucky, can anyone please help out. Thanks!

If this was a new site then it is common to see such fluctuations. You better concentrate on what you are doing and things will be fine with the passage of time.

Don't worry. What you're experiencing is perfectly normal and expected. Your site is brand new... Your domain wasn't even registered until 3/23/2009.

When Google first crawls and indexes a site, they will frequently show the newly indexed URLs from that site on page 1 of the SERPs for keyword phrases they consider to be relevant. They will show your URLs there for a few days... sometimes even a few weeks. Some people call this the Google "Honeymoon".

No one really knows for sure why they do it. There are lots of theories... Some say it's to get late breaking news or fad topics to the top of the SERPs. Others say it's to collect some initial values the ranking algorithm needs that can only be determined if your URL is seen on the first page of the SERPs - like click-thru-rate, bounce back rate, etc. (not saying any of these are actually used... just giving examples of behavioral statistics that can only be determined if people 'see' your URL in the SERPs).

Anyway... after a few days in the spotlight of page 1 of the SERPs (sometimes even a few weeks) Google decides the honeymoon is over. At that point your page disappears off of page 1 and falls waaaaaaaay back into the SERPs where it should have been naturally ranking all along.

This is the point where people show up here, webmasterworld.com, the Google Webmaster Help Forums, etc. asking if they've been penalized. The answer is NO! This is normal. Now the real work begins... You have to compete with the thousands or millions of other web pages out there that are fighting to get to position #1.

Just continue creating unique, compelling content that people will want to read... And most importantly, continue building inbound links from other relevant sites with link text containing the keyword phrase(s) you want to rank for... and you'll see your rankings start to rise.

It takes time, effort, and creativity. If it were easy to rank well then there would be no SEOs in the world. Rome wasn't built in a day... Take it one day and one link at a time, and just keep plugging away. You'll get there.

Don't worry about day to day rankings within google, they can't be explained. For long term SEO importance, keep up the back links, pinging, social bookmarking, and all that important stuff and you will be fine. Don't sweat about dramatic drops in Google, they happen to EVERYONE.

    Thanks!

    True, thanks for the advice!

O ok, hope it rises back up there sometime soon!

Another question guys, would it be better if I converted my site to something else, it is hosted by blogger, would that effect the link structure of my site, and if so should I just switch the domain to a site I can fully customize myself? Thanks and cheers!

In my experience, when you made any modification in your site, it will reflect on your site traffic and SERP. It will become normal but it will take some and you should continue your SEO.
