Thanks to using cronus' Digg Service (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=590167), my account and site has been banned! Has anyone had this happen before? If so, did you eventually get your site restored? How did you go about doing it. Please, no holier than thou posts. We all know you think I'm evil for using a Digg service! I get it. I just wanna fix the problem. Mike
Its unfortunate that our site is banned...but it cannot be helped out...sometimes it happens...I think the digg radar has found that you are opting in for diggexchanges rather than natural way...so here after make sure...you dont share your site publicly... i think thats the reason why it got banned...and there is no way to unban it
I don't think your website will ever get unbanned unless you email them and make something up but there's 99% chance it won't work so accept the fact that you're banned.
Get another domain and 301 redirect it to your banned domain and submit your new domain, this way all traffic and PR will come across. Get banned again, rinse repeat.
I'm not 100% positive so don't hold me for my word but if your website isn't well known and established the chances of you getting unbanned is like me winning a lottery ticket and I don't play lottery. But it's true that Tech Buzz got unbanned after six months but their readers were digging all of their stories (I don't know how that violates their TOS) and you bought D*gg traffic which is a crime in D*gg world.
Only the most hardened criminals get life sentences. I'm just looking for advice on going to the parole board.
Thanks for the advice. I have several related domains and will try that. How about my account? I can't even access Digg's login page. I think they have me banned by IP as well as username. Trying to access it via a proxy doesn't work as well. The Digg links won't even show up on the pages.
Never opted for any digg service here because i knew that all of the traffic come from digg exchange .. i believe in writing quality article and getting 1/4th of the traffic
Well Its even easier than exchanging digg. get an top article related to your niche.. get the articles which hasnot been published yet make some modifications to it and then submit it and see the traffic (articles related to apple ipod,Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Mozilla Firefox ) will bring you huge traffic
It's half a halferth Really OP, doing 301 re-directs with "spare" domains is the only way you can pull the traffic and PR back to your site now it's banned. Also sounds like new account time and start from scratch.
