My Sites Banned By Google

    Very recently I noticed noticed that my site is no longer ranking in Google.

    All my Google traffic is gone, and my earnings have plummeted from $10 to $20 a day to almost zero, which is very frustrating.

    My site is not de-indexed by Google, it just doesn't rank for any of my keywords anymore.

    I was in the Top 10 for a number of keywords (3 of which were quite competitive), and one day they all just disappeared.

    My website is TopSurveySites.org and it doesn't even rank for the term "Top Survey Sites" anymore.

    My site is not sandboxed; its 10 months old.

    I assume this must be some sort of Google ban/penalty, but I haven't done anything wrong.

    I have done A LOT of link building recently so suspect it might be for gaining links too fast.
    I got some backlinks off 5 popular sites in the space of about 2 weeks, I assumed this would be okay, however they are site wide links and each site has about 1000 pages indexed. Could this be what's caused it?

    I know that a lot of people recently are receiving Google bans for buying links, but I have not done this at all, although I have paid to get into one paid directory (but that's all), so I really don't see why I have been banned.

    Does anyone know why this might of happened?

    How long will this 'Google Penalty' last?

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    It's not banned. I think the algo didn't like the new links you acquired in a short amount of time.

    My guess is your ranking will be back to normal in time, but might take some time. Also, I do believe your site is in a sandbox even though your site is not new. I know the idea of the sandbox pertains to a new site, but in my opinion, Google even hits older sites with the sandbox effect when links are acquired too quickly.

    Fighting a google penalty can take quite some time. By the sounds of it, the link building may have been the reason. 5000+ links in 2 weeks would seem like paid links to Google. Google doesn't like sitewide links in particular. Usually they just ignore the links rather than penalizing the site. This may depend on the authority and age of the site though. A newer site has to be much more careful, while an older more established site may not get penalized as easily.

    If you are selling/linking to inrelevant websites/pages try removing those links and request a reconsideration ;)

    First off the site www.TopSurveySites.org is not banned.

    Now if you look at the <title> it states "<title>Best Paid Online Surveys</title>". Question? Where is the keyword phrase you are looking for? It's not "Top Survey Sites" because it's not in the <title> section. So, put your keyword phrase in the title.

    And as for your smileface in the lower left corner, this will get you busted.

    If you run a HTML validation tool on this code it sucks. What is this?

    <div id="footer">
    <div id="footer_text"><!-- This theme is free to use under Creative Commons (Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5),
    therefore all the attribution links in the footer must remain intact. -->
    &copy; <a>TopSurveySites.org</a> <a href="http://topsurveysites.org/sitemap.xml">SiteMap</a>

    </div>
    </div>

    Last, there are a great deal of outbound links on your site. They should have the "nofollow" attribute applied or if they are your sites, then they better not be on the same server.

    If these outbound links are to a common server (same IP subnet Address) then you will be penalized by Google for "Subnet Crosslink".

    sand box is my guess also, as even sites that are over 10 months old can land there.

    Thanks very much for your help, I managed to fix all of these errors apart from the smiley face. I'm not sure why its on the left side, but I don't need WP Stats that much anyway (I use Google Analytics), so might get rid of them all together.

    Cheers

    As for my Title Tag etc, I know what I'm doing here.

    Before receiving this 'Google Penalty' I already ranked #2 for 'Top Survey Sites' without the tag, hence though I chase some more competitive search terms - "Best Paid Surveys" "Paid Online Surveys" and "Paid Surveys" - with each I was on the top page until my site disappeared from the SERPs.

    Thanks

    I don't think your website is facing any kind of ban from Google. To get better rankings on Google, keep on adding valuable content and links for your website with different anchor texts
