    Hello
    Guys!
My site will penalized If I setup several A records for our site ?
If we setup several A records for our site xyz .com , would this help us in targeting certain local regions? For example:

    CityName.xyz .com:

    Bath .xyz .com
    Cambridge .xyz .com
    Canterbury .xyz .com
    Carlisle .xyz .com
    Durham.xyz .com
    Derby .xyz .com

    Plus around 50 other names.
I want to target the keywords for each domain, each under a specific city.
I'm unsure how Google would interpret the different sub-domains all pointing to the same IP address. Is this a good idea for keyword targeting, or would we be penalized by Google since all point to basically the same website/IP address? Or would you recommend making a unique page for each?
    Thank you

This would be equivalent to setting up several different sites, because Google s treatment of subdomains is similar to its treatment of independent sites. Even if you create unique content for all these sites, they will still have a page rank of 0 no backlinks to start with, and besides they are on the same IP and domain as your main site. You may not get penalized, but this sounds like a waste of effort to me at best. If you have a well established site, it is much better to set up local pages or subfolders instead of subdomains.

In a word, I do not recommend it the way you describe it. I hope this helps.
