It could just be a temporary ranking fluctuation. Happens to my websites all the time. Give it a day or two and hopefully your website(s) will return to their original positioning or better.

One of my sites has dropped about 10 pages for several important keywords, kinda taking it back to where it was when the site was brand new. Can only hope it's temporary hehe

Search engine rankings tend to fluctuate a lot, especially for newer sites.
Your site may come back to the front few pages eventually (depending on the new content)

don't worry, you are not the only one

I don't think google likes to send lots of traffic to newer sites, if you get a keyword ranked high enough that you start to see alot of traffic overnight, it almost always drops you back down soon again

it doesn't seem fair, but it almost seems like google has it programmed to only give you a little more at a time and if you don't keep improving your new site it stagnates in a hurry

I'm sure there are exceptions, but that has been what I've experienced recently

How long does it take for a new site to get much traffic? What should we do to persuade google to send us traffic?

this kind of stuff happens all the time. You should be back within a week however if you dont build more links and write original content you will continue dropping.

Google has one of my sites in an evil circle. I spend months climbing to good positions just to be knocked 10 pages back, then I spend months climbing again, and get knocked back.

If it's your Myspace layouts page, I think that's one of the areas Google has been knocking around lately. I've had people on my forum complaining that myspace, get paid to, marketing and seo sites are getting the evil treatment from Google. Funny, I got smacked on two of my oldest sites, a musician classifieds site (4 years old) and a recipe site (3 years old). I haven't added any external links, only using natural SEO on those two (enough people link to me without needing to pimp links) and they were both dropped 2 pr points and I lost a lot of keywords.

I think it is sad that just building a good site and putting your heart into it and quality content ends up getting a raw deal from google.

Unfortunate that Google never seem able to kick around the sites that should be kicked around, namely highly ranked sites with only ads and broken crap on them. Garbage and spam sites rule Google.
