    Hi,

I launched an online tool yesterday and to my amazement, google indexed it within a few hours. It was listed in the top 3 results for keywords "backlinks browser". However, now I see that it is no more in Google index. Any idea why I have been penalized? The site is http://backlinks.arsalanonline.com

your site wasn't penalized. It happens when the site newly launched.

this happens with new pages. google put it up in rankings in case it is a relevant news just published. If your site is realy relevant and people not bouncing from your site then you may stay in the top. otherwise your page will go down in the results...

Unless you broke terms, this is normal.

I once hit #5 for "Niche Content" within days of Google's visit to see it bounce up and down for the next 3 months until I established a user profile (how Google sees you) they could understand and rank appropriately.

In addition, I have seen that in local or regional fields (low competition) such as services, sites hit high then continue to rise, so it depends on many factors.

You also have to take into consideration that there is more than one google data-center.

I suggest using these web tools:
