I've recently discovered the reason my otherwise great site is getting no hits. It's a WP blog with All in one SEO. I try to use the keywords in the text as much as possible, but it turns out all my pages blow when I test them on http://www.submitexpress.com/analyzer/ here's one example: (http://poweressence.com/increase-your-motivation) Title: Title relevancy to page content is terrible. The Title relevancy to page content is 0%. Description: Description relevancy to page content is poor. The Description relevancy to page content is 50%. Keywords: This tag contains too few characters. Found 3 keywords, most search engines read more than 4 keywords. Keyword relevancy to page content is terrible. However, this is not necessarily bad if you have a lot of content. The most important factor is to have your keywords on the page a few times. The keywords relevancy to page content is 0%. I thought the SEO was ok. Should have tested the pages. One problem is too many outgoing links that aren't relevant to the article, for example in the side menu. How can I get around this? Is the page even being generated properly, I mean in the report it seems to ignore the body of text? My biggest keyword should be motivation but this is what is reports: get - 5 - 3.18% log - 5 - 3.18% 2009 - 4 - 2.55% What the hell is that about? lol... Please, please, share any tips you can.
Should irrelevant linkouts like those to our social networking sites be set to NOFOLLOW? Does that help take them out of the anchor text analysis?
your blog is nice but it does not have a "keyword". homepage description is: "Self Improvement Success Secrets. Help for depression, business, money, relationships, health, and spirituality." you can not get visitors from depression, business, money, relationships, health, or spirituality. your blog is an article directory. so do not think about google a lot. use social bookmarking instead of waiting hits from google. for examle, you can not get visitors for http://poweressence.com/how-to-build-muscle-fast because there are really big sites about these subjects. so you have to use stumbleupon, digg, etc.
Thanks addlinkurl. Yes I know my main page is very varied but I don't care too much about this. My problem is getting people to the article pages, which are much more specific, and can be optimised with keywords, desc etc. I would like these pages to at least have higher percentage SE efficiency, even if they are going to be outcompeted by entire sites. I believe I can pick up a lot of the traffic that is looking for very specific keyphrases, as I'm doing that now, even with crappy efficiency.
