Who's the owner of this directory?

Where's the review? I would like see it too.

I don't know anybody that would pay $70 for a review. But one thing I'm sure - I will fight to the end to get my money back!

LOL technically he signed up for an Annual Review...

Hey are you guys going to nail his card again in 12 months for another "review"?

Man... You thought you were only stiffed for $70. From the attitude so far I'd really cancel that credit card.

So is the review different frm year to year?,

2007 - "sorry it's not up to par"
    2008 - "so sorry"
    2009 - "ditto"
    2010 - "ca- ching' , nope"

    etc...

I am wondering what the one-time fee covers.

if rejected, can i just constantly badger them until they say; 'this ef'n guy just wont give up, lets just add him' and move on

    haha

BOWD Give this guy his hard earned money back! What a SCAM! How can they justify a $70 review fee? It is totally crazy. I hope a lot of people read this post and learn from this guys missfortune. I'm off to writing a blog post on these clowns. I hope everyone else does the same to help this guy get his money back and warn others of the risks of submitting your sites to directories with these crazy policies in place. $70 is a lot of money for some people.

In their favor: reviews is really what you pay for in general. How hard is it to list something. Of course this is a nice way to say ¨our directory is really free and we list only quality¨ for the sake of making the search engine benefit not too ovious, but we all know the reality on here.

I have a reseller account with Botw and I submit quite alot of sites (very good service never any problems, nice when my checks come through which are paid promtly), I recently had my blog rejected from the blogs directory because it didn't have more then 6 months history, I was a little bit disapointed but it was my own fault for not reading the guideline, 1st time I have ever had anything rejected, I expressed to them that I was a bit upset about it and they offered me a discount on a regular submission which I thought was fair enough. The directory that has been rejected seemed to have quite a bit of content on it to me, definitely alot more then myne, I think a refund would be in order in this case seeing how the reason for rejecting the site does not seem to be a good one, when I submited my blog I broke the guideline, how do you define enough content though? I think they are alot more reasonable when it comes to regular sites like I said I have never had any problems, I was going to submit Biz-Dir.co.uk this week, I think i will send them an email before I submit now.

Seems the criteria for directories is quite stringent, some of the previously listed directories were removed or rejected in the past. It'll be difficult to pass their review with 300 listings in a general topic directory.

Most all of our listings are edited or written from scratch @ eWebPages Directory and my submission was rejected. It just tells me that I've got quite a bit of work to do in order to meet their requirements should I decide to resubmit in the future.

You also have to realize that you are advertising competition.

Directory submissions are not a zero sum game. Just because someone submits to BOTW doesn't mean that they won't submit to your directory as well (or vice versa). The more quality directories there are, the better it is for webmasters and for directory owners.

I fired a quick email over to Botw and asked them what the chances were of getting Biz-Dir.co.uk accpeted they said to get a directory accpted it needs to have 10's of thousands of sites listed and it needs to have unique content, like ewebpages I have a long way to go before my dir meets their criteria.

And they told you all that without paying the review fee? LOL

I hear they are a great place to be listed but still don;t think it is worth that kind of money just review it!

Personally, I don´t like listing a lot of directories, unless they belong to friends of mine in here. Anyone can slap a php link script onto a domain name and call itself a ¨hand edited seo friendly web site directory¨.

So maybe this should be reminder number 10,000 that people need to do more than what everyone else is doing.

Takes time, and once you get there you normally will be validated by Google as well. Just stick with it and use it as a motivator. But I do believe that the message should be out that BOTW has such a strict requirement for directory listings to prevent others from wasting a $100.00 ¨review¨ fee.

You don´t need BOTW either way, there are many other directories with as much power to help you gain credibility in the search engines.
