My site Ranks number 1 when i use intitle or allintitle command

for instance when i search for search engine marketing specialist on google, i am nowhere to be found.

when i search for intitle:search engine marketing specialist i am also nowhere to be found.

BUT when i search for intitle:"search engine marketing specialist"

I am showing up number 1, my friend has the same issue for one of his sites with the different keyword phrase.

Does it mean that i have a good chance to get good rankings for this term search engine marketing specialist ? if allintitle and intitle with "" show my site number 1?

    Thanks

    Skionxb,

the "intitle" operator gives little indication of how the site may perform in the "normal" index. "allinanchor" is a better operator of your potential.

I'm perplexed. You appear to be offering SEO services or info yet you are asking a question to other seo. You should already know this. Sounds like what Doctors do. They start 'practicing'(notice the word) medicine before they know what they are doing. No offense intended. It just seemed strange.

Meow…hiss hiss….. Here comes Visio… Dave jukes left…slides right … look at that footwork!!!

Those operators have little to do as far as gauging your rank in the SERPs. They are probably best used in conjunction with other operators in establishing the competitiveness of a term….. for targeting purposes of course.

..but I am another ranter like Visio..so you may want to take ‘specialist’ out of there…. Ha ha ha ha ha….

    Sorry… couldn’t resist.. :D

Don't mind Visio  - we all start somewhere.

In any case, thegypsy has it right. Allinanchor use to be a great sign of your potential rankings but lately google has made it almost impossible to find leading indicators.

Have you check out what your competition is up to? The balance of anchor text they are using? You seem to be using the summary tag a lot to optimize for that term - careful with over doing it with on-page optimization for anchor text.

Sorry, but perhaps when you know how to target those terms you would be better placed to advertise your skills as a specialist.

Yeah, sure, we all have to learn somewhere, but perhaps it's better to learn your skills before you go hawking your wares? How are you going to deliver if someone does hire you?

Again, apologies, not trying to get personal, but I think you should learn these things before trying to sell them. That's what I did anyhow.

DBurdon nice to see you - haven't come across you over here before :)

You should also check out allintitle:, allintext:, and allinurl: - these are also important in improving your ranking for the term itself. Look at the top ten or twenty on those four searches, plus the search phrase itself. You will see alot of the same sites...

    RedCardinal,

didn't know you frequented this forum either. Good to see you here, too.

    Skionxb,

by normal index I mean the SERPs produced without operators.

    Check the allins without quotes...

Try this tool: http://www.mcdar.net/Q-check/datatool.asp to look about 1,000 pages deep. The best I show you ranking for the keyword itself is 379, but I only checked a few d/c's... on some, you do not rank.

I show you nowhere for allinurl: - you should have a filename for a page related to the keywords, using the keywords.

Yes we are. I don't want to make you mad or hurt your feelings as you have alot of potential and you have some good points and ways of looking at things. However A specialist is usually someone who knows overall how to rank for anything. That doesn't mean they have to be perfect. Good luck with your site and hope you do well. Just continue to learn and you will soon be a specialist.

Good point. Each of these functions such as anchor text are factored into a ranking but of themselves don't make the ranking so you can rank #1(or in other words be the best in that area) for allinanchor but still lack that importance that the other site has in another area.

Very kindly put and good advice.

The ordinary punter - sorry searcher - never uses exclamation marks, plus signs or Google operators. In the end its about quality traffic not rankings.
