Get a lot of backlinks, or just some few high PR backlinks.

    1. Get some offsite backlinks from PR 3 or higher sties (work on this continously)

    2. Optimize your on site items (need keyword targeted title tags, descriptions, image name, copy and image ALT tags)

    3. Submit a press release (prweb.com) and setup RSS feeds of your content.

backlinks are the same as inbound links. Links from other sites to your sites.

Backlinks are just links from other websites back to yours. Do a search for "Add your link" and you will get a lot of listings of directory websites where you can add your website under a specific category.

Also use this forum. There are a lot of directory owners here including myself.

DonKon - I use FireFox as my browser and I have an extension from them that shows the PR and Alexa rating of each site I'm viewing.
They also have a webdevelopers tool bar which is quite handy also.
A search through their site will yield many little helpful tools you can add for free.

Go to the solicitations and announcements section and trawl through looking for free, no-recipricol directories and submit

Study the DMOZ guidelines and submit.

Write articles and ask related sites to publish them.

Read the other posts here - lots have asked before and I don't want to regurgitate the answers...

on my google toolbar it say PR2.

To improve your PR get other websites to link to your site: Request link exchanges with relevant sites, submit to quality web directories and anything else you can think of.

A quick look through the firefox website and you would have found this page - FireFox Extensions. It has all the extensions for firefox. Many of them VERY helpful for webmasters.

I suggest looking through the "developer tools" link. There you'll find many things of interest - Webdeveloper Tool bar (among other things it allows you to "change" the css of the site without making any REAL changes, after playing with it you can go to your style sheet and make the permanent changes there), another one named IE Tab that switches you to an IE window to see how your site looks in IE (That browser can really screw up things) and switch back, and the Google tool bar gives you the ranking.

Look around the site and good luck.

You already have a PR2. So you are already ahead of the game. But just get as many backlinks as possible, especailly from higher PR's.

Get incoming links from sites whose PR is more than your site's PR. Also submit to high PR directories.

It's PR2 over here as well, but iWebtool is saying that they can't determine it (I don't know why they can't determine the current PR)

And as people said above, linkage is king (up until now I thought content was king :()

Alright great, is there any tools to make this quicker, i found a tool on page 3 which was alright and i used to it submit to atleat 50 directories, i also did some searching and submitted to all sites up to page 3.

Now quick question about recipricol, is there any difference in this, does this help your site or it doesnt matter?
