Hi my site http://www.guide2prince.org does not seem to be listed at all on ask.com , despite it ranking 2nd or 3rd on google.com for search word "prince discography" I've tried emailing ask.com but no response, any ideas?
I wouldn't worry about it too much, even if you were listed on ask.com do you think it would bring you much traffic?
Not really, since I'm not listed either and I don't really care. I'm listed on google and if I wouldn't I would care about it, this is not really important
really? what would be a better keyword for a Prince discography website? Another example would be a search for "prince songs" on google which returns my site at # 6 out of 509,000 my question is/was why ask.com don't return the site at all - and how i can get them to re-instate it, as far as i know its the only search engine which doesn't return the site in it's results..
Conisdering your site is eight years old I have no idea why it isn't indexed in ask.com... Have you had any problems with it in the past with the site being penalised or banned in other search engines?
The original site (pre 2004) was based on Prince bootlegs, and basically the site was taken down by prince (along with quite a few others!),I purchased the domain name in 2004 and it's no-longer about bootlegs... so i'm wondering if Ask.com have blacklisted the domain name itself ? and if they have how i can aoppeal it - i realise ask dont generate the traffic that google does but it still does generate traffic
neeshu is my name and my sites name is neeshu.com now thats a good keyword and site name search anywhere it will be on top
Create an XML sitemap and submit it to Ask.com. Just add the full path to your Sitemap file after the = symbol below, enter it in your browser and click go. Ask will provide visual confirmation of the successful submission. http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap= Code (markup): At this point you have given Ask.com everything it needs to crawl. Whether or not it does is a different story... Good luck
Don't worry bout Ask.com. No one uses it. And with time, your site will be listed by them if you do stay on top with google for a period of time. Till then, build a quality site .
i'm pretty sure ask.com is actually used, we get quite a few hits on www.avatune.com from ask.com, the site has been up for years so time isn't the issue - will try and submit a sitemap
Any free traffic, no matter how small, from a search engine is a good thing. Even though Ask may not send much traffic, I certainly would not complain if I were getting some from them.
good advice guys,, im listed on ask but ive noticed its very slow to crawl perhaps a site map would help me get crawled faster..
It's pointless to say "use google" ... my query is why ask.com aren't indexing my site and if anyone had any ideas how to get it index (or re-indexed by ask)... the site already ranks well in google, yahoo, msn etc... I've submitted a sitemap manually to ask.com so hopefully ina few weeks it'll work out but somehow i feel the site (www.guide2prince.org) is blocked by Ask.com so i still wonder how i'd get it unblocked?
