Can anyone help explain this. When i go to google and type the name of my site in (street-car) it doesnt list the site but if i do the same in yahoo, msn its there and its with other simlar sites with that kinda name. I've been listed in google now with the full name street-car.net for years but it wont do just street-car or street car you have to do the full url?

How can i make it list under just the name

    Thanks
    mike

How long has your website been around. Have you checked the title in the vb setting. It is one of the presets phrases in VB. Just search for it in the VB admin section

uhmmm, street car is a keyword, and google doesn't detect dash (- ) on the search term... it means if you search street-car its just like searching street car.

Actually, Google is showing the same results for 'street-car' and 'streecar'; and different results for 'street car'.

That said, it is unimportant for your site to rank for 'street-car'. That is likely not a widely-searched term. However, if you optimize for 'streetcar', it appears you will rank for both search phrases. Make sense?

Optimize for each term by creating relevant, original verbiage about street cars. Keep adding content, and try to gain relevant backlinks if possible, using your keywords as 'anchor' text.

One great way to gain quality backlinks is to do a little research on your competition. See who is linking to your competitors' sites by searching 'link:www.competitorsite.com'. If there are industry-related sites, with relevance to your site, request a link from their site to yours. It could be an industry niche directory, or anything concerning streecars.

Just work for that keywords and you will get the results.
Its take time for a new site to come in the ranking.
