    Hi !

I have a problem with displaying my site www.myspacecodesworld.com in internet explorer.

I have an admin area where I put ads for site, and there is a place for 120x600 adds on right side of a page.
It looks OK in Firefox, and I had adds there for last 2-3 months.

All this time I have never checked how it looks in IE ( big mistake ) , but when I checked today, it was disaster.
It doesnt at all show any adds on right 120x600 ads area , but it show those ads below the content, so you can imagine how it looked to have 2 x 120x600 ads one bellow other, it was disaster.

And also that gray empty area on the bottom of left navigation area.

What I could do with this ? How to fix it ?
84 % of my visitors use IE ( God forgive them ) , and I loose lot of possible advertising place on site.

I see this guy - www.myflirtyspace.com has made it somehow, his site looks good in both browser, and we're using same script.

Usually, the layout will collapse for IE because the div or image doesn't have enough space to float to the left/right. Maybe you can try making the center or the left side smaller.

Or maybe try putting in a smaller image, if it doesn't collapse in IE then that would mean the 120x600 ad doesn't have enough space on the right.

I don't know if you realize this or not, but the problem is in your CSS. I can't be much more help than that, but I had some problems like that and it is all in how IE interprets (or doesn't) your CSS.

Yes, its probably CSS, I was working something on it today, and probably messed up something.
Hope is that, and hope it had not looked so bad all the time

There's 2 ways around this: either write a second CSS file with code specifically for IE, or include extra code specifically for IE in your existing CSS file.

As stated already, IE blows when it comes to CSS compliance. New rules need to be written to "cheat" everything that IE doesn't like.

Do a Google search for "IE css", "IE css fix", or similar terms and you'll see how others are fixing this problem.

Oh, and IE7 allegedly doesn't have this problem... but my guess is it'll still have SOME, even if only a few.

I think it will make you feel better if you know that most of surfers use Firefox anyway.

    You're very wrong, unfortunatelly.
I have 8 sites, and niether one has bellow 80 % of IE users.

Anyway, I fixed it, it was not problem with CSS, but with one ad that was too big, I replaced it with smaller, and its good now in both browsers.

Thanks guys for help and advices.

That's possibly the most incorrect "fact" I've read in a long time.

He probably means that most people that use these webmaster forums surf the web with FF, while the majority of the rest of the world uses IE.
