My Site Is Screwed

I feel like an idiot for starting a website in the Wordpress Hosting niche a short while back and I feel like it's almost impossible to rank.

Logically, I know it can be accomplished, but I'm having a difficult time estimating how much effort (and $$$) it would require to rank on the first page or preferably #1.

Has anyone had any positive (or negative) experiences trying to rank a site such as this?

I'm at the junction where I need to decide if I should "Rank or Sell" the site.

The site is WordpressHostingHQ . Com

    Cheers,

    Tim

I think the overall consensus is that Wordpress-based websites do generally rank very well, but the problem I'm facing is that I tried to target the "Wordpress Hosting" niche.

You've possibly narrowed your focus too much by targeting Wordpress hosting. I wouldn't have thought there's be too much you could write on the subject, though I might be wrong. If you had an existing, established Wordpress/web design site already, you could push existing traffic to the hosting site.

    Perhaps.

Although "Wordpress Hosting" does have 74,000 global searches per month, so I thought it was a decent Niche target.

    74,000 is not that much...

If you want to I can make you a Full SEO report for your website, to see why you are not listed in the top 10 for your keywords...

I'll do it for free,,, send me a PM...

I will be using IBP software for this...

I noticed the site takes a looooong time to load - and I am on a 50Mb/sec connection, so it must be your hosting or site. Take a look at that. Also, maybe expand the niche to WP themes? What about sponsoring a free WP theme?

    Thanks Everyone -

Munier: Thank you very much - I'll send you a PM shortly.

Phynder: I've noticed the slowness, too. I might be able to fix it with a WP plugin? I like the idea of sponsoring a free theme - Good call.
