Not only that, but you get different results based on your location within the US - recently I did a test of SERP positions on this with a few employees in our organization across the US, and got a bunch of different SERP positions for a keyword we're raking for.

I left that site and moved onto something else, ranked #1 in google news yesterday, but not much traffic, going to try forex trading as a keyword and see the traffic from that.

I think you will find that the keyword that you rank No.1 for is a part of a longer phrase.

For example, if you rank No 1 for "Miscellaneous", adwords keyword resultys may say 75000 per month, but it also includes all searches with that word in it.

So, "miscellaneous widgets" has 1000 searched per month, and "miscellaneous gadgets" has 300 per month. If you add up all these phrases with the word in it, they will add up to 75000. In reality, hardly anyone will search for the exact word "miscellaneous" as it is a word that is used with others, not on its own.

    I hope this helps.

    To the thread starter...
You may want to forget about getting hits on Google's MAIN search index. It's pretty difficult. I would suggest you optimize your images instead. You can easily get seven thousand pageviews a day. Forget about being one on your niche, dude, what's important is you get hits. You want to make money after all, right? :)

    Anyway, visit splitcell.com for more.

    Hi,

I think 75k might be a broad match result from Google adwords keyword tool. My suggestion would be if you want to target your main big keywords for your homepage, you need to use exact match instead.

    have a nice day,
