I have been working building the site cross-platform-games.com I not finished with it yet but i just noticed it got indexed by Google. How could this be possible since there are no links to it and I have never submitted it to google? Yahoo says there is no links and I just added it to googles webmasters tools and it shows theres no links but yet site:cross-platform-games.com shows my whole content, at least what I have added so far. I know some people have waited months to get indexed but it has happened to me without me even trying. Any ideas why?

Google also has it's own registrar and it's believed they can view a list of newly registered domains (which would be an optimal way for them to locate new websites); I've seen this happen countless times with new websites I've developed. Usually I use the robots.txt to block crawler access until the site is ready to go live.

Don't be panic! wait for some time . Google considered back links based on his own algorithm ,most of time most of users ( also me) don't get back links explored from Google . Try to build the quality content and strong SEO . you will get backlinks listed with google, yahoo and other SE

FYI, Google automatically crawls and indexes a website once it's up in the web. You don't need to submit it to search engines or build links for it inorder to get indexed.

Google already caching your pages without seo job but very less probability. you should create back link for very fast caching.

google doesn't know about all the new sites that get launched every second. you need to submit your site to google, submit the sitemap via webmaster tool, or build backlinks so that googlebot can find your site and crawl. submitting the sitemap and then keep building backlinks would be the best course of action

I was using webmasters tools to check my backlinks which is still 0, but will greatly increase very soon as I start promoting. It seems as if Google automatically checks the domains that are recently registered and indexes them. Not a bad idea if you are a SE.
