My SERP is going crazy, it changes position in matter of minutes. I've seen it go to #3 to #8 in just a few minutes. Then, it will completely disappear, not even in top 100. A day later it returns. What's going on? Is this something new that Google is toying with to give everyone some exposure???
There's no telling. Google does these little "dances" sometimes and sites get shuffled all around. I'm sure things will get back to normal within a day or so. I've seen my sites bounce around in the past also.
Well .. according to me, SERP's depends much on CTR .. its like who gets maximum click on top position gets the top rank ... its only with some high competitive keywords !!
Hi McMuney I have just launched 2 new sites, both "exact" target long tailed keywords in the domain, "usually" these new sites would rank between 1-3 .... neither site is ranking for "any" keyword... even phrases that are "unique" to those sites.. I am hoping something is wrong or this dance is going wild.. if it does not settle down then my whole site building stratedgy is crushed,,, I go for long tail phrase domain names with "little traffic" but valuable to me... Regards David
For the last several hours, it's holding steady on the #7 spot. majestic12: It probably did make it to the first page, but didn't last long because of this new dance.

Google is always tweeking the SERP's...it could be a bigger change, or the normal dance...who knows. Don't panick, just wait and see.
Calm down and get back to SEO. That's just the google dance, your website will stabalize soon. Just get back to creating unique content and backlinks to make the process go faster.
