My site has recently been frontpage'd on a very competitive keyword. However, it is not stable... every day, its position change. One day, I'd be ranked 6th. The next? I'd be ranked 8th... and 7th the day after that. Why is my site 'dancing' so much? When can I expect my site to "stabilize?" My keyword.
Google Dancing? Oh forget about it. These are normal. However if you are talking about dancing to the 100 over positions then it could be SandBoxing day. If your site is relatively new, get ready for the ultimate Google Sandbox.
These are normal things if your ranking fluctuate between 2-3 position. do worry about it.just do your work and rest will be done by google.
Yeap I was so happy when mine was 3 for the keyword I was concentrating , then it went to 5 yesterday, now it went to 8 . Will it rise again or continue to fall? I tried so hard on this keyword.

Like i say if your site is new, get ready for Google Sandbox. Almost every new sites go through this motion. And the normal sequence is a site rank high for a competitive keyword for 3-7 days, then drops in SERPs slowly. The end result will be the site disappear totally in SERPs and 4 months later you are back at the bottom.
I have the same dilemia, but worse. I rank between 10 - 13 (varies) every day. Some days I'm on page 1, some days I'm on page 2. Wouldn't think it would have a big effect on traffic, but trust me, position 10, page1 highly out does position 11 on page 2! Good luck getting that stabilized though. Hopefully, it will settle down for you.
