hi everybody, i just finished completing my website/blog and now i want to know the best way to promote my site. I created this site just for fun for myself, and if possible I'd like to earn some cash if possible with ads so i can cover my web hosting fees. so some questions i have is. - what is the best type of advertisement i should use for a boxing website/blog. i know there is google adsense and more. - whats the best way to get my site high up on google/search engine ranks. thank you for your help.
Linking your website to social media will help in the ranking. Most social media automatically ranks highly. Write articles related to boxing, create teasers in something like Twitter that link to the entire article. You see lots of magazines doing that these days if you follow them on Twitter. Other than that, read lots of info on SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
you won't be able to sell ads on your site until you have traffic. Advertisers will pay to be in places that people will see their ad. If you have money, you can either use PPC or CPV traffic sources. But if you are looking for free resources, then what CXCX said is solid advice. Good luck!
You can write article and try to get ranked for few keyword . If there are not a lot of competitions you may be able to do it yourself. Also, you can use paid service
get some free ebooks on SEO and study it, do your own SEO and LSI and be patient and watch as your site goes up.
Very nice...well first of all you must analyse your website's text properly and follow the guidelines that google gives for SEO purposes, put webmastertool, analytics code. After that write some article stuff and submit it in different directories like hubpages and make a proper anchor text.

Well to answer your first question, adsense is a tricky game. If your keywords you choose don't get much traffic then google is not paying you more than a few pennies for the clicks.
