    Alright guys,

I have a site that is ranking well for completly the wrong thing.

I have a small subsection, that is the main reason people are fininding my site for. <-- it must be a more niche target.

For the main sections of my site, it dosnt rank anywhere, its basicly living off the sub section.

Should i totally remake the site, change its focus on the subsection and get rid of the the rest?

Any advice on what you would do would be great.

    Cheers.

i dont really mind that the site is getting the wrong traffic -- the thing it is targeting is good, it makes more then the original terms.

But i dont know wether i should just remake the site to match the current traffic, seen as it dosnt rank for the main topic. You know what i mean?

If i have a site about cars, with a bike subsection -- and its mainly only getting visitors for bike info, which has little info if any.

Should i remake the site about bikes, and setup a new one for cars?

    Cheers guys.

If your getting more for bikes i would expand on the bikes but i would still keep the cars area just advertise that as well ;) like make people more aware of this too!

My original site ranked #1 for a term I didn't want it too. Free traffic is free money. I wouldn't complain.

    how old is the site?
i would try and find out why the subsection is ranking well and why the real parts of the site are not

bikes and cars are pretty different, if your looking for info on new bikes you wouldnt want to go to a site about cars right?

why not create a new site about bikes and link to it from your cars site in your subsection

I'd suggest you keep both of them. For now, you can pay more focus on bikes on your site. But dont completely remove cars from it. Have both, but make sure the page where most of the traffic comes to, has the same things highlighted on it which people are looking.
